I hope I don't come across as rude for doing this, but I've gotten enough comments lately from different members here that I feel like I should address something really quickly, just for the sake of explaining my perspective on this. I love getting constructive criticism, and I enjoy getting compliments. And I can see how people giving me picture suggestions could be seen as a compliment, I get where that's coming from. But a lot of the suggestions or requests I get are for characters that I don't have in my gallery or my favorites due to a wide variety of reasons (number one is that I'm probably not familiar with them). So when I get requests from people for these characters, it makes me feel a bit like people have expectations of me that I'm not willing to meet. If I open for commissions or I happen to agree to an art trade with someone in particular, that's one thing, then I am actually obligated to draw what they want me to because that was the deal I agreed to. That is always my choice to take on. When someone I don't know asks or suggests that I draw something that doesn't have much interest for me, that's something else. This gallery is pretty much just for my fanart of other things, and that art is stuff I do for me to have fun. It's what I feel like drawing.

Even with some of my character redesigns, while I do really appreciate feedback and constructive criticism, and really want to encourage people to express their opinions, telling me to change a certain part of my design without a solid artistic reason why is not the same thing. If that's how you want that character to look, then that's what your gallery is for. I think very hard about the design decisions that I make and while I'm always looking for suggestions on how to make the design itself stronger, there are some decisions I won't budge on because I drew them that way for a reason. If you feel they should have long hair, then there's absolutely nothing stopping you from drawing that character the way you want. Everything in my gallery, with one single exception, is fanart. Nobody should be taking credit for my personal redesigns, but the original designs are certainly fair game.

Again, I'm not trying to come across as rude or overly sensitive, especially since I want to encourage people to approach me with questions, comments, and criticisms. But I've gotten so many comments like this in such a short amount of time that I feel the need to say something because I'm starting to feel slightly put-upon. If you request something like this from me, I probably won't respond because my answer will inevitably be no and it takes a lot of energy and time for me to word my rejection in a way that doesn't sound condescending or mean. I'm a full-time college student and time and energy are things I'm in really short supply of. So this is my official response to these comments. Thank you for reading, I hope you understand.
